Obituary of Edward J. Hall

Edward J. “Ted” Hall Allegany, NY Edward J. “Ted” Hall, of E. Union St., passed away Monday (August 3, 2026) at Jones Memorial Hospital after a recent admission. Born July 15, 1944 in Olean, he was one of five children born to Edward “Ned” and Mary Shearer Hall. On June 4, 1981 in Allegany, he married Shirley Bennett who survives. Ted graduated from Allegany Central School and later from Hudson Valley Community College. All of his working years were with his family’s businesses, including Vibra-Crete Products, Hall Vault Co., and Hall Remodeling, all in Allegany. He enjoyed camping with his wife, gardening, and was a self-taught guitar player. He was also excellent at small engine repair. He leaves behind his wife, Shirley; two sons, Kenneth (Isabelle) Hall of Las Vegas, NV, and Edward (Darlene) Hall of Duke Center, PA; four grandchildren, Larissa, McKenzi, Josh, and Devin; one sister, Diane (Joe Quattrone) Moss of Allegany, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis (Win) Rice, and Audrey (Robert) Stomierosky; one brother, David (Dorothy) Hall, and a niece, Debra Stomierosky. Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Allegany Rescue and EMS, 117 E.
