Obituary of Justin Shane Perry Schaeper
Portville, NY Justin “ Shaner” Shane Perry Schaeper of Haskell Road, Portville, NY passed away Thursday July 30th, 2026 at home.
Born July 22, 1991 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was the son of Thomas and Kathleen Cooney Schaeper. On May 19, 2018 at the Woodside Tavern in Allegany, he married Taneasha Currie.
Justin was a graduate of Allegany Limestone Central School. At the age of eighteen he enlisted in the US Army and served from 2009 until 2011. He was proud of his service and considered it one of his best jobs in life. In turn, his family was very proud of him for his service to our country.
He considered it a privilege to be the best husband and father he could be and was an excellent role model for his and Taneasha’s three children.
He enjoyed most outdoor activities such as camping, motorcycling, trucks, fishing, and times spent at the hanging bog in Cuba. More recently he loved learning to cook and prepare barbequed foods.
He is survived by his wife Taneasha; three children, Sophia Currie, Justin Schaeper, Jr., and Shane Schaeper; three siblings, Angela (Jason) Bragg of Sardinia, Shawn Perry of Hamburg, and Emily (Sean McCabe) Schaeper of W. Seneca; his mother, Kathleen Schaeper; his stepmother, Gaye Redpath-Schaeper of Franklinville, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He also leaves behind Taneasha’s brother Michael (Tori) Flynn, and sister Shaneaqua (Adam) Link, as well as many dear, close friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Schaeper; his birth mother, Deborah Ann Perry; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Raineri, and his brother-in-law, Maddux Currie.
A visitation will be held Saturday (August 8, 2026) from noon to 2pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A time for sharing remembrances will begin at 2pm until 3pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, or to a cancer treatment center of the donor’s choice.
