Obituary of Linda Jean Zaleski Manross

Linda Jean Zaleski Manross – November 16, 1956 – July 26, 2026 Loving Daughter, Sister, Mom, Friend, and Bubba Allegany, NY Linda Jean Zaleski Manross died on Sunday (July 26, 2026) due to Progressive Bulbar Palsy, a neuromuscular disease in the family of ALS. Linda was the golden child of Eugene and Helen Zaleski. She had 6 siblings; Larry (Diana Ritz) Zaleski, Don (Lynne) Zaleski, Donna (late Ron) Wetherby, John Zaleski, Jim Zaleski, and Julie (Mark) Swatsworth. She graduated from Olean High School class of 1974 and attended SUNY Brockport. In 1982 she married Michael J. Manross. They share 2 daughters; Angie (Jason Keller) and Jen (Jesse Turner) along with 4 grandchildren; Mia, Dawson, Lucciano, and Apollonia. Her career and lifelong dedication to caring for others began at the former St. Francis Hospital where she worked on the psychiatric unit for 6 years. For the next thirty-four years she worked for Intandem, formerly The Rehabilitation Center, as a Supervisor, Director, and Vice President. Linda may have retired in December 2021, but she didn’t stop there. She previously earned her master’s degree from St. Bonaventure University for counseling and worked five years for Paragon as a mental health counselor. She had been a fan of the Buffalo Bills, NY Yankees, and St. Bonaventure men’s basketball since the mid-1960’s and up until her diagnosis, Linda enjoyed traveling, gathering with her people, vacations with family and friends, especially the beach, reading, and golf. She was also very involved in the community and served on several boards of directors such as Olean Community Theatre, Tri-County Arts Council, Coasters, The Pulaski Club Ladies Auxiliary, and The Zonta Club of Olean. Linda is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, siblings, sixteen nieces and nephews, sixteen great nieces and nephews, and many special friends. She will be remembered for her compassion and unconditional support. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7PM at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday (July 31, 2026) at 10am at St. Bonaventure Church. Fr. Michael Jones, ofm, will be the principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Pulaski Club in Olean.
