Obituary of Frank Sisson
Olean, NY- Frank J. Sisson, 79, passed away Monday (June 29, 2026) after a long illness, with his family by his side.
Born August 9, 1946, in Olean, he was the son of Gaylord and Rosanna Green Sisson. On March 11, 1970, in Allegany, he married Esther Hulin, who survives.
Frank was a graduate of Olean High School. In 1964, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp., served until 1968, and was awarded the Purple Heart medal during his service.
After his military service, he worked as a licensed HVAC technician with S.M. Flickinger Co. in Olean and he also worked for Meadowbrook Dairy in Cuba, NY. Outside of work, he found joy in music and played in several bands. One of his bands included playing for the Miss America Pageant.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding bikes with his grandchildren, and he had a lifelong passion for classic cars, especially his Camaro. Family was at the center of his life, and he cherished the time he spent with his loved ones.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 3 children, Suzanne (Adam Satterfield) Sisson of Buffalo, Gregory Sisson of Olean and Wendy Learn of Friendship; his grandchildren Jordan (Brianna Erway) of Olean, Devan Sisson of Olean, and Sophia Colley of Olean; a great-grandson, Atlas Colley of Olean; a brother, Edwin” Kelly” Sisson of Olean and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his eight siblings.
A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced in an upcoming edition of the Times Herald.

The family would like to thank the Olean General 3rd Floor and Cuba Memorial Hospital for the loving care they provided to Frank throughout his stay.
