Obituary of Jefry J. Fries

Jefry J. Fries Allegany, NY Jefry J. Fries, 68, of Colonial Village, passed away Wednesday (September 10, 2025) at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 13, 1956 in Olean, he was the son of James J. and Shirley A. Boye Fries. Jefry graduated from Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and soon after joined the US Navy where he served as a Commissary Man, 3rd Class from 1974 until 1977. He worked as an electrician for various businesses, including Mosler Safe in Franklinville, Automated Machine Services in Cincinnati, Henkel Locktite in Olean, and Friendship Dairy from which he retired. He enjoyed staying active with his children and extended family. He coached little league baseball in Franklinville and Olean and coached the East Olean Midget Football Team for several years. He loved cooking, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing and helping his son Jason with his racecar. He leaves behind two children, Jason (Erika) Fries of Limestone, and Jennifer (Dusty) Benson of Erie, PA; two grandchildren, Owen Fries and Emily Fries; two sisters, Alvena (Brian) Babb of Allegany, and Sue (Larry) Grigsby of Olean, and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces. The family welcomes visitors to a memorial visitation on Saturday (September 20, 2025) from 1-3pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean.
