Obituary of Edwin R. Maynard

Edwin R. Maynard Ellicottville, NY Edwin R. Maynard, 67, passed away peacefully Sunday (June 1, 2025) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 28, 1958 in Olean, he was the son of Raymond W. B. and Mildred D. Miller Maynard. He was married to Lynne F. Lawrence who survives. Edwin was a 1977 graduate of Hinsdale Central School. Soon after graduation he began working for Ontario Knife Factory and retired in May of 2011. He was a car model enthusiast in his younger years, and always had a passion for mustangs, several of which he owned, and motorcycles. He was an animal lover and enjoyed his dogs and cats, as well as his family’s pets. Being with his family brought him the greatest joy and they meant so much to him. He leaves behind his wife Lynne; a son, Erik Keech of Franklinville; 3 grandchildren, Mason, Maddilynn, and Maybel; 4 sisters, Diane (John) Gangemi of Muncey, PA, Carol (Kevin) Carll of Allegany, Terry (Michael) Slater of Great Valley, and Melanie Coy of Gifford, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Russell Coy. The family welcomes friends to a memorial visitation on Friday (June 13, 2025) from 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean, and again on Saturday (June 14, 2025) from 1-3pm. Visitation will conclude with words of remembrance.
