Patrick M. Premo – loving husband, father, grandfather Brookhaven, Georgia Patrick Premo died early July 15, 2021 with his wife at his side, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia after a long illness. He was 79 years old. Born in Potsdam, New York on June 7, 1942, he was the older son of Mervyn A. and Marion E. Perry Premo. He spent much of his youth growing up in Massena, New York, before attending Ithaca College to study Accounting, graduating with honors in 1964. After graduating from Ithaca, he accepted a position at the Rochester, NY office of Haskins and Sells, then one of the Big Eight accounting firms. His employment there was interrupted when he served two years with the U.S. Army, stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He went on to complete requirements at Haskins and Sells to become a Certified Public Accountant. He later received a master’s degree from St. Bonaventure University. Ultimately, he joined the Accounting Department at St. Bonaventure University that led to a 36-year career in teaching. He was fortunate to work at St. Bonaventure; it was a job that he loved and where he developed many life-long friends and colleagues. He retired in 2006 as Professor Emeritus. An avid reader and book collector, he also had a passion for sports. He particularly enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing, and used his penchant for numbers and horses to develop and market a horse racing game that he continued to update until shortly before his death. Together with his wife, he was able to visit several of the largest thoroughbred tracks throughout the country. He and his family were longtime members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in South Vandalia before the church was closed. He attended Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Ellicottville for several years after St. John’s closure. Patrick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen née Boser and their children Maureen N. of Orlando, FL.; Eileen C. of Los Angeles, CA; and Daniel P. of Brookhaven, GA, his wife Julie, and their children, Fox and River. He is also survived by his brother Dale of Orrtanna, PA, his wife Doreen, and their son, Michael; his brother-in-law Bill Boser of Allegany, NY, his wife Shirley, and their children Scott and Kelly; and his sister-in-law Betty Vossler of Rochester, NY, her husband Wayne, and their children Anne and Ed. He was predeceased by his nephew Eric Vossler. Interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery and will be private. A service is planned for Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Bonaventure University Chapel at 12:30pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to remember Pat may contribute to a scholarship benefiting students at St. Bonaventure University: The Patrick M.
