Addison – Catherine E. Waters, 69, passed away Wednesday (June 23, 2021) surrounded by her family at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Born November 17, 1951 in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Francis and Ruth Post Houghtling.
Catherine was a graduate of Wellsville Central School and went on to work for Northern Lights Wellsville as a candle maker until her retirement in 1994.
In her free time, she enjoyed genealogy, fantasy movies, camping, fishing, and she loved animals. She also loved the Lord as her savior.
Surviving are a daughter Cindy (Matthew) McKinnis of Olean and their children/grandchildren; a son John (Kristy) Waters of Cummings, GA and their children/grandchildren; 5 siblings Donna Seamon of Bolivar, Sharon Grist of Addison, James (Elaina) Houghtling of Miami, FL, Harold Houghtling of Augusta, GA and Thomas Houghtling of Wellsville, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husband, Leo Waters of Greenwood.
Services will be held privately at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
Memorials as desired may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd., Olean, NY 14760.
