Allegany, NY Joanne R. Tidd, of 4064 W. Branch Rd., Allegany, passed away Sunday (February 7, 2021) at the home of her daughter Lori in Allegany.
Born August 10, 1944 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Ruth E. Ferrie Wales. She had been a devoted and loving partner to Robert H. Lampack for the past 27 years.
Joanne was a graduate of Orchard Park High School and soon after, began working in the medical office of Dr. Donovan in East Aurora, and later for Anthony Brown Pharmacy in Orchard Park. After moving to Allegany she worked as a sales associate for M&T Bank. She was later a bookkeeper for Ron's Smoke Shop and then an employee of Walmart in its stationery department for 5 years. Prior to her retirement she was a real estate agent for Chamberlain Home Realty.
Joanne was first and foremost a loving mother and grandmother and partner, but also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. She was an active member of the Allegany American Legion Auxiliary for over 21 years. She was also the chairwoman of the Olean, Allegany and Salamanca satellite of the Variety Kids Telethon. She donated much of her time coordinating events and fundraisers for this cause, which in turn benefited Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
Surviving is the love of her life for over 27 years, Robert Lampack; 1 daughter Lori Nupp of Allegany; 3 sons Thomas Tidd of Franklinville, Daniel Tidd of Olean and Ralph Tidd of Jamestown; several grandchildren, especially Caden Nupp who was the sunshine in her life, many great grandchildren; 1 brother Joseph (Mona) Wales of North Collins and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 1 sister Shirley Higgins and 2 brothers Thomas Wales and infant Dennis Wales.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Thursday (February 11, 2021) at 11am in the funeral home. Rev. Al Batt, care pastor at Believers Chapel in Olean, will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
