"Former businessman, loving father and grandfather"

Olean, NY     Raymond W. Carapellatti of 102 Independence Drive passed away peacefully at home Saturday (March 31, 2018), surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 15, 1928 in Olean he was the son of August and Nellie Sabatino Carapellatti.  On September 5, 1953 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany he married Patricia A. Barr who predeceased him July 2, 1990.

Raymond was a lifelong resident of Olean.  He had been a partner with his brothers in the operation of the former AC Beverage Co. and the former Holiday Inn of Olean prior to his retirement.

He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and had served as an usher for several years.  In his younger years he liked go-cart racing and later he enjoyed traveling to NASCAR races.  He was also an avid Yankees fan.  What he most enjoyed was being with his family.  To him, the world revolved around his children and grandchildren.  He was looking forward to the birth of his 3rd great-grandchild soon.

Surviving are 7 children Raymond (Gail) Carapellatti of Lakeland, FL, Richard (Helena) Carapellatti of Upper Marlboro, MD, Mary Ann (Robert) Dupree of Pointblank, TX, Susan (Michael) Tucker of Olean, Michele (Gregory) Benham of Cuba, Mark Carapellatti of Olean and Paul (Lynn) Carapellatti of Olean; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 3 brothers Edward Carapellatti, Roland Carapellatti and John Carapellatti and 1 sister Mary Carapellatti.

Visitation will be private.  Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday (April 4, 2018) at 9:30am at St. Bonaventure Church.  Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 5488 Sheridan Dr #300, Williamsville, NY 14221 or to Homecare and Hospice, 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
