Allegany, NY Florence E. Stout of 104 Williams Street passed away Wednesday (December 30, 2015) at the Absolut of Allegany in the loving presence of her son Robert and the caring staff at Absolut. Born April 20, 1919, in Allegany, she was the daughter of Warren and Anne Benson Hitchcock. On June 15, 1940, she married Bernard E. Stout, who predeceased her April 12, 1989. Mrs. Stout was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1937 and attended Westbrook Commercial Academy. She worked with her husband for many years as owners of the former Border Oil and Gas Co. Mrs Stout was a lifelong member of Zonta International service organization. Surviving are two sons, Robert Stout of Olean and William Stout of Cranberry Township, PA; one granddaughter Mariah Stout Carr (Rodney) and two great-granddaughters Shayln Carr and Sheridyn Carr. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one sister Eva Parker and one brother Paul Hitchcock. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday (January 4, 2016) from10:00am until 11:00am after which time funeral and committal services will be held. Rev. Jonathan Colby, pastor of the Allegany Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
